Truffle hunt

The inland of Istria, especially the area around Motovun, is where truffles grow, but that doesn't mean you can go there and find truffles in one afternoon. Truffle hunters use specially trained dogs and have hidden parts of the forest where they go hunting.

As the largest peninsula in Croatia and one of the four most significant wine regions, Istria abounds in wine roads, some of which connect the most famous wine cellars.

Olive oil roads in Istria

What is characteristic of Istrian olive oil are its excellent fruity green notes and robust and peppery taste that can be felt in the throat: a sure sign that it is rich in polyphenols - a chemical component rich in healthy antioxidants.


The long pebble beach of Kanegra is located near Savudrija, only ten kilometers from San Servolo Wellness Camping & Resort. Shiny pebbles bathed in the blue sea and a lush green forest in the background are ideal for relaxation and enjoyment.


Hiking is the best way to get in touch with nature, where you can observe the surroundings, nature, and animal tracks in detail. The Kornarija forest is located near Grožnjan and offers numerous opportunities for hiking in every season. There is also a large selection of paths that differ in length, degree of difficulty, and natural environment.


Tennis club Buje allows all tennis fans to use the tennis courts. The club has 4 clay tennis courts with lighting, a changing room with showers, a tennis wall for training, parking, and covered club rooms. Nearby are a children's playground, football fields, spacious green areas, and forests.


Road cycling

If you like long ascents, downhills, and uphills, Istria is the perfect destination for all types of cycling, from road to enduro. The sections Livade – Oprtalj, Livade – Motovun, and the ascent leading to the artificial lake Butoniga are beautiful trails, ideal for all road cyclists who love challenges and want to break down their limits.


The Parenzana mountain bike route, arranged along the old railway route, connected 33 Istrian towns from Trieste to Poreč. If you are a mountain bike fanatic and love speed, then the Enduro Grozni race is just for you. The race is held on the hills around Grožnjan. During the competition, speed control is essential when driving downhill.
